About
I’m Brett Burtson — a full-stack software engineer from Kansas City, Missouri who loves building things that blur the line between creative and technical. By day, I work with Angular, React, .NET, and Kubernetes on complex IoT systems. By night, I’m usually in the lab — coding, printing, or experimenting with Raspberry Pi clusters.
My latest focus is the @burtson-labs/bandit-engine project — an open-source TypeScript AI toolkit powering the next generation of chat automation and edge intelligence under the Bandit Labs banner.
Bandit Labs is a playful AI and software studio co-founded with my brother Mark Burtson. Together, we explore machine learning, AI automation, and open-source tooling under the Burtson Labs umbrella — sharing ideas, experiments, and reusable components for developers, makers, and dreamers alike.
Our projects range from distributed Raspberry Pi clusters to full-stack applications built with Angular, .NET, and TypeScript — blending engineering precision with a maker’s curiosity. When I’m not coding, I’m probably 3D-printing a prototype, teaching my daughter something new, or trying to make a user interface feel a little more alive.
